Ïî ïðèáûòèè â ëàãåðü îí ññîðèòñÿ ñ âîðàìè, è ñ âîðîì â çàêîíå Äüÿêîì, êîòîðûé ïðèãîâàðèâàåò åãî ê ñìåðòè. ×òîáû èçáåæàòü ýòîé ó÷àñòè, îí ñîâåðøàåò ïîáåã. Ïîáåã íå óäàåòñÿ – åãî ëîâÿò, èçáèâàþò è êèäàþò â êàðöåð â ÁÓÐ.  "ñåéôå" Óïîðîâ ïðîâîäèò ïîëãîäà... Âåðíóâøèñü â áàðàê, îí ó÷àñòâóåò â êîíôëèêòå ìåæäó âîðàìè è "ñóêàìè" ÃÓËÀÃà. Óãðîçû âîðîâ çàñòàâëÿþò íàøåãî ãåðîÿ ñîâåðøèòü åù¸ îäèí ïîáåã: îí ïîìîãàåò âîðàì âûíåñòè âîðîâñêóþ êàññó íà "áîëüøóþ çåìëþ"... È ñíîâà ïîáåã ðàñêðûò, â æèâûõ îñòàåòñÿ òîëüêî Óïîðîâ... Íàø ãåðîé ñêðûâàåòñÿ â äîìå Íàòàëüè Åëåöêîé – 22-ëåòíåé äåâóøêè, êîòîðàÿ ïðèåõàëà íà ïîñåëåíèå ê ñâîåìó îòöó èç Ëåíèíãðàäà. Ñ ïåðâîãî âçãëÿäà Âàäèì è Íàòàëüÿ ïîëþáèëè äðóã äðóãà. È ýòà ëþáîâü äàëà Âàäèìó ñèëû áîëüøå íå èñêàòü ñìåðòè, à îñòàòüñÿ â æèâûõ, ïðîéòè âñå êðóãè àäà ïîä íàçâàíèåì ÃÓËÀÃ, è íàéòè âûõîä – äîñðî÷íîå îñâîáîæäåíèå ñî ñíÿòèåì ñóäèìîñòè... |
